Can you recommend a host? - 3/23/2008 12:16:32
Hi There, having been completely let down by fasthosts - poor /non-existent customer support, excessive downtime, inflexible contracts etc etc, I am in teh market for a new host.

I require a Windows Server, with at least SQL Server 2000 or SQL 2005 Express Edition to host about 200 websites.

I've looked around and everyone seems as bad as each other yet promise the earth!

So make a suggestion and I'll be grateful

Thanks

I've heard good things about Titan hosting and Simply are pretty reasonable (by that I mean that they respond to support queries within a reasonable time).

The people I usually recommend are Linux only unfortunately.

(edit: I should point out that I'm recommending UK hosts as BM is in the UK).

I used Hostway until about the end of the 20th century. They have grown and sometimes things usually suffer from that growth.

I have a couple of servers with TechEvolution. I would say their support is great (only needed to email / call them a few times to fix some of my mistakes) :)

Take a look at Infoquest. Their support is outstanding. It does not matter whether you call or send an email you will be speaking with a tech in less than 5 minutes.
