Davev -> Server Extensions? (12/8/2001 0:05:22)

Hi, just installed FP2002 on Win2K - servers seem to be started and OK, but FP says server does not appear to have Server extensions installed, although everything seems up and OK - see screen print at http://www.beld.net/users/davev/scrnprt.jpg

more detailed info: I was running FP 98 and Office 97 on my Win2K, everything was fine, then I upgraded to Frontpage 2002, and upgraded to Office 2000 - first time I ran FrontPage 2002 it told me that ther server extensions could not be found - anyone?

have read thru all the other posts RE FP2002 extensions and the problems associated - would I be better off going back to FP98 on Win2K (I don't have FP2000 to install, only 98) ? At least I could work in it...
Anyone?

Noone has tried answering this yet, so I'll give it a shot:

Is the server vwc1 your local computer or is it a host on your Intranet? If it is your local machine, try opening up:

http://localhost
or
http://127.0.0.1

If it is a computer on your Intranet, try obtaining the IP address and going there. You can usually get the IP address (of a good hostname) by opening a DOS prompt and typing:

ping (hostname)

You would type: ping vwc1

Then, try to open the web at whatever IP address the PING command returned. For instance, mine is this:

http://192.168.1.13

Try those and if that doesn't work, re-post and we'll try something else....
