IIS 5.1 Configuration Problem - 3/24/2008 15:29:26
I'm having a problem working with MS Visual Interdev. I'm running IIS 5.1 on my workstation, and I've aliased a URL to run with the IP address of my local machine (127.0.0.1). However, when I enter the URL to access the web page in question, the system prompts me for a user name and password. Regardless of what user name and password I provide, I get an access denied error (401) from IIS. Anonymous access is disabled but Windows integrated security is enabled, and I'm logged in on my network domain (and I'm and admin on my local machine). I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting prompted for a login in the first place.

If anyone else has had this problem, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Spooky

I normally develop in a subweb and that doesnt have the same issues.
I did have the same issue with the root some years ago, but cant remember what I did to fix it :)
