Do I need a database? - 3/24/2008 22:56:08
I've been poking around here about databases here lately regarding a project I'm working on. I'm totally new to them as well. I've got another project that I'm wondering about now. It's a simple site that will have many pages. It will be used to show locations so there will be many pictures. Now, I could make a separate page for each location but I'm wondering if it would be better to use a database to dynamically generate the pages?

It can be easier to maintain the one template, capable of displaying many different images / text.
But in this part of the forum we are all biased ;-)

Just remember however, that quite often the template page needs an admin system to add/edit/delete those database records .
You can do it directly with access, or via an online database (typically your host has those 'admin' pages already setup so that you can do it easily)
