looking for ideas for laptop screen - 3/30/2008 13:06:19
Hi, a client of mine had a Sony Vaio laptop that ended up with the common burned out motherboard and he asked if I'd like to keep it since a new motherboard would cost close to $800. First I thought I'm just going to gut it out for memory and hard drive, but then I started wondering if there is anyhting else that can be done with it, especially with the screen. Has anybody ever converted a laptop screen to something else like a digital picture frame? Can this be done? Is there anyhting else I could do with it? Thank you

I made this post some time ago about using the LDC monitor for a desktop screen. Of course, this post was before the popularity of digital picture frames, so there may be more available now, but the outlook doesn't look good. Good Luck, Andrew
