Music Lesson Site - Please review - 4/4/2008 8:51:15
Please review my site created as part of an E-commerce course. The critques fulfill a course requirement to experience peer and professional evaluation. THe home page should be the focus of the review. I'm really interested in the effectiveness of the main page, and whether or not it would persuade a consumer to register for lessons or at least inquire for further information.
The buttons and links to the Contact, Register, Location, Payment and Privacy pages display alert boxes as the site is still under construction.

Thanks!

Visually it's OK, but I'm surprised that any e-commerce course would teach you to build sites without a doctype, using tables for construction and without using CSS to separate the styling from the content.

Consequently your page shows 27 errors if you attempt to validate it and more importantly it fails the automatic accessibility checkers. Making it technically illegal in the UK (not sure about the states). If it is not very accessible the usability will suffer as well.

I would have a few words with whoever is teaching the E-commerce course and ask why he/she is teaching such outdated methods.
