Assignment Web site- your feedbacks appreciated - 4/8/2008 0:09:03
Hi,

I would really appreciate if you can provide some feedbacks on my web site at

http://acadunix.algonquincollege.com/~he000010/cst8267/qinjade/index.html

This is part of a E-commerce Web design course requirement in order to experience the collecting of evaluations from professionals that are outside the school.

Please comment on the main pages and see if they are effective enough to attract viewers attention, make them feel interest in seeking more information, or even persuade them to make a purchase.

Please note that the Web site is still under construction, so when you click certain links such as MY CART or Return Policy etc. a JavaScript alert box will pop up.

Thanks and your comments are greatly appreciated.

The banner image is too large file-size-wise - optimise it so that it takes less time to download.

I'm hoping that your web design course isn't teaching you to use tables for layout... you might want to point out that that's a very old-fashioned way of doing things.

Looks-wise - I'm not keen on that bright yellow - you might want to tone that down a bit. Also on the pages with lots of text you could do with some padding between the text and the sidebar. Apart from that I think the sales pages themselves are fine.

Code-wise - you need to look at the coding errors and get them sorted. Ideally you don't want to be using tables for layout. The data tables (e.g. postage) should be as accessible as possible (google "accessible tables") and you should ensure that you keep the presentational information out of the markup and in the stylesheet (e.g. in the data tables you've got font-tags in there!).

I'm beginning to think we need to set up a forum specifically for Algonquin. :)

I agree with Tailslide.
