Switch from FP to what... - 4/8/2008 20:50:16
I've been a long term user of FP. It met all my needs. Mostly, I just found it the most intuitive software to use. I like other tools, such as WeBuilder, HomeSite, FirstPage, and although I use WeBuilder when I don't want to load up a site with all the _vti_cnf, etc. files, I still just like FP. I've been away from the hobby for a couple of years, but it seems the time may be coming when I can get back to it.

I already have "Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition" and I can honestly say that I don't like it. Is Expression Web similar? Does Expression Web load up the site with all the _vti_cnf files, or similar, as does FP?

If I have the time to get back into the hobby then I'd prefer to get one tool and become familiar with it.

With the above in consideration, I would appreciate opinions on your likes, dislikes, and other considerations of whether I should move to Expression Web.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Expression Web is pretty similar to FrontPage. Have you taken a look at some of the screen shots for Expression Web? That might help you. And of course, you can download a free trial from Microsoft as well.

If you don't rely on a lot of those FrontPage bots (which is seems you don't), I would recommend that you check out Expression Web

Thanks Corey. You're right. I don't use the bots, in fact I try to avoid them. About the only bot I ever used was the db bot when I just wanted something temporary, quick, and dirty. I'll check out the screen shots and perhaps download the trial, as I'm about to redo my PC anyway, so what's another installation :-)

Thanks again,
Andrew
