Hi folks, um I use FP but my question is when I click on my website - www.seandmurphy.com - another site comes up instead called runescape which is an online java game. why is this happening? cheers

it comes up for me - sounds like maybe your browser has been hijacked. are you using IE?

I get your site in IE7 as well as Firefox and would agree with Dave that your browser has probably been hijacked. [&:]

K thx for the heads up folks..... all good again.... I use both IE and Firefox got a couple of questions tho.... What is the point of this hijacking? and.... What harm can it do? I am a big fan of runescape and have been playing on and off for years so I was a bit concerned when it hijacked me to that particular site. Also why and how was it just my website home page link that seemed to have been hijacked - no other pages have been wrong links cheers

Can you see it on the options section for FF browser? TOOLS>>OPTIONS>>MAIN

um soz bit late triptopsranch....all fixed (i think) now so i cant check that.......oh wait a sec my home page was fine and no other links to any other sites were bad. it was only my website homepage - www.seandmurphy.com - when i entered that i got www.runescape.com instead - but its fixed now but to add like i said before...... What is the point of this hijacking? and.... What harm can it do? quote: I am a big fan of runescape and have been playing on and off for years In this case it proably didn't do any harm but the normal point is to force you to porn sites etc. I suspect what's happened here is the browser has somehow got redirected. Somebody else on here had something similar recently. Suggest you make sure you run up to date virus checkers and trojan/browser hijacker software. My virus checker always notifies me if any changes are attempted to browser settings.

ok .....so its happened 4 times again now......scanned everything.....found nothing so.....last resort....uninstalled IE....and guess what.....all good im still none the wiser.....but im happy [8D]
