Great! Thanks for the tip. I think the guy from the font "museo" is performing a little trick: he is currently in first place of best sellers only because he is giving some of his fonts away. This may spark a generalized attitude and others will want to do the same. Let's keep our eyes open!

Dear fans, Sorry for the delay. I've been doing other stuff lately, mostly smaller projects. And I do have a primary job outside the design world. *shock* That Museo is a gem but not killer. I would take it to my library as a nice little toy to play with, but I wouldn't print a book with it. There haven't been many good freebies out there lately, but I would definitely use Museo on the web, in large headings (text-as-image). I haven't looked at free fonts lately. I'm currently in love with Anziano. And I'm also 6 years late to discover Whitman.

In case you didn't know, the designer of Museo is Jos Buivenga aka Exljbris. He has released some pretty good freebies, including Fontin which I did mention earlier here. Again, it's a nice toy, and probably not the best text font for your company's annual report.

anderskorte nice to see you around. Aaah! Anziano. Such a nice font. Expensive family though. Just like Celeste. Starts at $215. I use them only on special clients who are willing to pay. Is Jos Buivenga Dutch? I think he is. I think he gives away fonts now and then in order to climb the rankings. What do you think?

I'm currently in love with Anziano. I am in love with Aviano Sans BTW, I've never asked you what part of Finland you are from. I used to visit a girlfriend at the Polytechnic University in a place called Rovaniemi. It was a delightful place with a lot of students. I suppose by now the beer hall owners have finally forgotten about me and I can go back. I remember getting quite drunk and eating great pastries. If you ever get a chance to go there, you will have a lot of fun!

ORIGINAL: Mango Himself I am in love with Aviano Sans Yeah, it's a good-looking font. But it's still a display font and not good for several pages of text. It's much easier to like display fonts because there's more room for creativity. I mostly like book type only because of their functionality, but some make great display type (like the best typeface in the world, Akzidenz-Grotesk). It's not so much about the font itself, it's the way you use it. One important thing is the whitespace around it and the overall balance of the page. It's more than easy to damage a good font with bad whitespace... quote:

If you ever get a chance to go there, you will have a lot of fun! I will, because I live there, with 60,000 other people. It's a nice small town with cold winters and hot summers. And you might already know about the midsummer night sun...

I haven't used Anziano anywhere yet. I don't do much print design. But it's a great typeface and pleasing to look at in a text setting.
