barking mad -> displaying images on two websites from one database (4/25/2008 4:20:45)

I have two websites utilising the same database, hosted on the same server.
In the administration, users can uplaod product images to one location on the server for both websites
When i display the product info I want to display the image too. Ordinarily I would use relative paths as the image stend tobe in a subfolder of the relative website's URL ... HOWEVER,
on this occasion they are both in one physical location so i figured i could use the physical path to the image but this does not seem to work. Could it be something to do with permissions?
I know i could call the images in by putting in the location on the other URL but this seems a little longwinded?
Any ideas anyone?
