DesertRat -> Unable To Publish Site (4/29/2008 12:11:49)

I've designed my site and have been using Expression Web to publish updates without problems. Today when I attempted to update, I got an error message that indicated the web server did not appear to have Windows SharePoint Services installed. I contacted my hosting company and they had me uninstall and then reinstall FrontPage Server Extensions. Their techies were also able to connect using FrontPage.

Does anyone have an idea of why I suddenly can't connect?

I thought Expression doesn't need FP extensions. Try connecting with a FTP program to see if you can connect. Use a free one like FileZilla.

I tried to ftp the site but was also unsuccessful. I received a message stating that the web server could not find the ftp site (attempted when I had the hosting techies online).

Are you using share point services?

That error message seems to say that you tried to ftp to your ftp directory on your host. OK don't go to the ftp directory on your host. Just try to ftp to your website. Like this: www.yoursite.com or whatever you call your site.

How about a link to your site?

Don,

Thanks for the help. Just as mysteriously as the problem started it has now disappeared using FPSEs.

My wife's site is www.thecolorcoachpalmdesert.com

Glad it fixed itself. Usually when that happens, your host did something to fix things. But they will never tell you.
