luke_hilliard -> codes for frontpage (4/30/2008 20:19:28)

hey
for a project I am doing, I will be assigning 3 different codes for 3 different tests on my site. Is there a way I can have 1 text box that could lead to the 3 versions of tests (as well as a wrong code window)? thanks
Luke

Do not use text boxes. They only work with IE and not very good at that. Not sure what you mean by three different codes. Do you mean 3 different languages like CSS, HTML, PHP, etc? Maybe you could give us an example of what you mean by code.

by "codes" I meant like a password. sorry for the confusion. I need to have the person input the password on the start page, and depending on the password, it will lead them to a certain test, one of 3 possibile. I want to do most, if not all in either VB or HTML. Sorry again

FrontPage does have a handy way to do that. Look on the top of this page. The blue bar on top. Click on FrontPage go to the FP Techniques > Permissions & Subwebs / Subsites (Revisited) section and follow the steps.

Do you mean a multiple choice test? Four answers shown with one correct one?

yes, exactly.

Look at this sample. http://www.ivyrun.com/education/resources/mctest.htm

It is a good looking test format which uses javascript. However the link to the code does not seem to be working. DO a Google search for 'Multiple choice test script' for many more.

Edited to note that the code with comments for the test is in the source.

Im having trouble editing the quiz in frontpage. It probobly has somthing to do with the Java script. have any thoughts?

Are you using the script from the link I posted? If so, it seems to be highly annotated with lots of comments. Have you seen that? It tells you how to add questions, etc.

Test it in a browser after you have made your changes. Sometimes older versions of FP don't interpret javascript correctly.
