Questions with Frames and Scrolling - 5/14/2008 15:33:32
I have a frame on the left of the screen, adn a frame on the right side of the screen (both of which are inside of an inline frame).

The frame on the left is to serve as a "froze" column so the user can read all the data when they scroll to the right and still knwo what they are looking at.

Now, that works fine until I have to scroll down also...both frames have a scrollbar to scroll down with. Is there a way to have both frames scroll down at the same time like inside of the iframe or something?

:)

Go back to the css example you posted before and learn how to use it. Frames within frames...... yeeks!

There's also this (much more complex than previous CSS attempt)

or this which uses javascript and seems to work in most browsers.

I've used those "ActiveWidgets" before and almost posted it as a solution.

The one thing that held me back is the price *doubled* since I bought it. It's a very cool product that you can do an incredible amount of stuff with but it is absolutely not for the JavaScript weak-of-heart. :)

But, yes it'll do that kind of stuff.

Ick! That's horrible. You seriously want to put that on a site?

Remeber it's for an Intr-a-net; the users have no choice. :)

I don't care what it's for, I wouldn't subject anyone to that. It's truly horrible. :)

Well, I can't figure out how to lock a field on the left so this is my only choice. I'll probably just end up not having the functionality at all and having them suck it up and wine about it.
