My cells are being stretched! - 5/23/2008 9:56:10
Our new site at Handscombes.com is up and running, and the toothpaste has gone, jaybee! (Running joke).

However, I do have a problem in that if I put lots of content into the main cell, it 'stretches', and the 3 image logos in the left-hand sidebar move about. I've tried jiggling things cell-wise to prevent this, as I can understand what's happening, but no luck.

The images should stay just under the Search Our Site button - compare the Client Services Page and the Site Map and you can clearly see the problem.

I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on how to correct this? Or does it mean re-designing the pages?

Thanks,

John.

Try putting the images in the same cell as the links (below them of course) and then delete the cells that the images are in curently. That should prevent the images from dropping when content is extended in the main cell

The page is working as it should ie. when the content lengthens this images on the left have the space between them stretch. It's so long since I worked with tables that I can't remember if anything can be done. Now if you used CSS and divs, it would be a different matter, you'd use a container for those images for instance.

The only thing I can suggest is that you use a graphics app to make a new image that contains those three images and use that. At least then the one image can stay put and the space around it should grow.

Edit: Swoosh knows about tables:)
