SpywaIsue??? - 5/28/2008 12:41:58
I recently purchased a Thinkpad (Lenovo/IBM) T61. from day one I began to receive adverts through Internet Explorer.

Celldorado was a common one, but they nearly all have a page title that begins with the ~ symbol. They are complete IE pages. Example

I have Microsoft Windows defender running. I have also run Adaware and Spybot without any success.

I am wondering if the Lenovo update utility is leaving a door open somewhere?

It's really becoming annoying. Does anyone have any ideas?

Could it be something running during "startup"......(check MSCONFIG).

Can you wipe the whole thing and reinstall the OS?

Well, I have now tried Windows defender, SpywareBlaster, SpyHunter, RogueRemover and SpywareBlaster.

Nothing has worked. I think that my only option will be to wipe and rebuild!
