'Find' command stopped working - 6/7/2008 11:05:11
Hi,

Hope someone can help me with a really irritating problem.

I've been using FP 2003 for some years, but for some reason, when I clcik on 'find or 'find and replace', nothing happens.

No box appears and so I can't search pages or the site for any specific text etc.

It used to work fine but stopped for no apparrant reason a few weeks ago.

Anyone have any idea why this could be?

Many thanks for any help

Ian

Have you tried running "detect and repair"?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm a bit of a novice - how do I do that?

You will find Detect and Repair on the Menu Bar under HELP

Ok - thanks.

I did that but it wants the Xp disc - but Xp Pro came bundled on the PC when I bought it and I don't have the discs.

Will have to try and find a copy.

Thanks again

Ignore that last post.

I do have a dsisc , and it ran ok, but the problem is still there.

Maybe a fresh install will do the trick?

Make sure to backup any sites you have locally

Caution: if you use Outlook both "Detect & Repair" and the uninstall/reinstall process will overwrite your .pst file - all Personal Folder/Contact/Calendar will be lost.

Get back to us if you want to find out how to preserve this information :)
