Battery Problem - 6/15/2008 18:58:01
Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop.
I have a problem with my battery charger.
For some reason, my computer really relies on the charger because if I pull out my charger, the computer will just turn off by itself.

Before- I was able to charge my computer for awhile and then pull off the charger and my computer will still be on.

Can anyone help me and teach me how to change the settings on my computer so that my laptop can still be on even when I pull my charger away? Thanks.

You didn't say how old your laptop is but if it is a couple of year old then maybe the battery is beyond hope and you need to replace that. If that isn't the case then go to the dell website and see if they have info on your model. Also, a google search on your laptop turned this up:

As time goes by, you will need to recharge your dell INSPIRON 700M laptop battery more often. When the computer battery life is about 25 percent of its original level, get a new dell INSPIRON 700M battery.
