Dreamweaver publishing kill Frontpage Forms - 6/16/2008 12:39:06
Whenever we publish using Dreamweaver CS3, the pages that have frontpage forms on it, stop working. We are using IIS5.0, yes I know its old, but the box is scheduled for an upgrade, and I have to go in and repair security permissions. It give me an access denied error when the form tries to post information to the CSV file. Anyone ever run into a problem like this and is there a way I can fix it. I would like to make changes to Frontpage form pages, like navigation and pics, not to the actual forms itself, and then upload them with dreamweaver instead of frontpage and not kill the forms.

FrontPage created forms require you to publish with FrontPage, if not, it will break the Server Extensions which the Forms rely on

So what, they are just replacing it with two tools: For the SharePoint crowd, "SharePoint Designer 2007" and for the others "Microsoft Expressions web designer".

Frontpage Extension based forms need an algorithm from FrontPage to be implemented into the site successfully, and as Swooch said, they'll break otherwise.

Dreamweaver is for the hard coder when it comes to form usage, you need to publish those forms with Frontpage or use a different tactic to create them (PHP/ASP)
