Naming webpages with descriptive names - 6/22/2008 19:00:06
Please someone explain to me the meaning of the following addresses? I am in the process of building a second FP web. I want to use the best file names to gain the best exposure. Please someone explain to me the meaning of the following addresses rankings Obviously #1 one is the index page whereas #3-4-5 are not. But what about #2 compared to #1--what is the difference between these two addresses? Both are HOME index pages--#1 does not have the word index but #2 does with a descriptive name preceding index. Finally, what is shtm? Thanks Slow Learner 1. http://www.fmlc.com/ 2. http://www.munilease1.com/index.shtm 3. http://www.eplus.com/locations.htm 4. http://www.citicapital.com/tax-exempt/index.asp 5.http://www.tdbanknorth.com/business/municipal_leasing.html

SHTML is an extension used for a page that has some type of Server Side Include. Mainly it is a page that has to be processed before it is sent to the browser.
