Limiting Records Per Page - 6/24/2008 7:29:36
Is there a way to limit the number of records per page when gathering data from an Access database?

I had read that thread already. I do not see this option when working with an Access database.

Working with an Access Database shouldn't matter. Do you have Paging Enabled? if not, you will have to do so to state how many results per page you want.

I know I'm looking for Enable Paging but I cannot find it. The EW help is no help. I've gone through every step again and somewhere or somehow I'm still missing it.

when you click on your data results control in design view, you should see a little arrow button in the upper right hand corner of the results (you may have to position your mouse there). Click the arrow and you will see some options. One of them will be Enable Paging

That is where I thought it should be. I only have the following:

Auto Format
Choose Data Source
Configure Data Source
Refresh Schema
Property Builder
Edit Templates

Select the Control and view the property sheet window. You should see an area for "Paging".........make sure it is set to True

Still nothing. It's hard to believe I'm missing this. Even the small amount of code show nothing that refers to pages or records. This should be a simple matter but I'm stumped.

You were referring to Property Builder wasn't you?

Open up the Tag Property Window.......I believe it should be on that one. Not sitting with a machine with EW at the moment

Here was the problem Swoosh. You can Enable Paging in Gridview but you do not get that option in DataList. Sorry for the troubles but thanks for your help.

Ahhhhhh okay, EW doesn't offer Paging for Data List, although it can be done. I hope Grid View will serve well for what your after.

I was mainly getting used to the .NET controls. I usually need a datalist because I use some databases with descriptions. I wish DataList offered paging.
