SueZQ -> RE: My host can't help, ATT can't help...I really need help! (7/2/2008 22:22:42)

I had a similar problem just last night and today. I couldn't upload my site, and couldn't view my site. I went back and forth with the hosting company, and they gave me a lot of things to try. I am copying and pasting their suggestions for you. Your site is perfectly accessible. We have uploaded a snapshot of your site. They are available at: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dczbjdsd_213cx2wtwd9 Please try to view your sites using any of the following : 1) http://surfola.com 3) http://anonymouse.ws These are proxy sites and they bypass your ISP's DNS and try to access your site. If you can view your site using any of these, then the problem may be on your ISP's part. Please contact them to check if there are any outages on their network. You can also try to view the status of your site by giving the following URL: http://alertra.com/ This site will show the status of your site. If you are still having problems in accessing your updated pages, the problem could be your browser showing old cached pages or caching at your ISP. To confirm this, please do the following : 1) Try accessing your site from different browsers like Opera or Netscape 2) Try accessing your site from different computers like your friend's or neighbour's .. using different ISP. 3) Also, download this free ping plotter tracing tool at : http://lowesthosting.com/downloads/pngplt_1.exe and enter your domain into the window. It will create a view of the path and hops from your local computer to our server. If any hops show * or stop then that will show you which isp between you and our server is failed. You should perform this test when you have problem in connecting to the server. Let us know how it goes. (SueZQ again) I tried everything - nothing worked. So, I went to the ATT website and downloaded the desktop help. I was reluctant to do this, but I followed each direction, next, direction, next, etc., finishing with a reboot. It worked! I have set my preferences to receive an email when and if you reply. Since I just did this today, and have ATT (formerly bellsouth) also, maybe maybe it will help you too. Good luck!
