Changed Hosts, now can't view - 7/2/2008 14:23:56
Hi all,

I recently changed the A record for one of my domains to point to another host. Everyone else in the world seems to be able to view the new website but me, (or my whole office anyway), stuck behind this ISA Server Firewall. I am receiving an Invalid Hostname error message.
I can ftp to the site, just can't view any files in a browser.
We're running SBS 2000 w/ISA Server. What setting can I change so that the records will be up to date, and for that matter, what records need updating?

Thanks,
Carrie

Try clearing the cache. Some ISPs take longer to refresh their cache after a change.

Who hosts the DNS for the website? Is it locally?

What address are you entering when you try FTP? Did you try visiting that address to see if the site loads for you?

If everything is going through the propagation phase, you can edit your local computer's host file to point the domain to the new server IP. Be sure to verify everything else still works after you do that.
