vivo2341 -> newbie wants a raq server (12/11/2001 17:41:08)

I am currently a reseller for a hosting comapny and have about 20 sites that go through me, I was at www.rackshack.com and I noticed there price for dedicated servers is extremly cheap. What i need to know is where to start with learning linux. I bought linux for morons and I am getting a little familiar with the command line and I just wanted to know if anyone has used this cobalt version or linux. personally I was born and raised on windows but honestly I would not trust anything microsoft to support my business so I turned to linux. and links for newbies or just general info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a cobalt raq. So far I love it. Just a few quirks to get used to. Just keep the manual handy

You might check out Exanium That is where I have my raq.http://www.exanium.com

Thanks alot Shirley, I was dreading no one would get back to me . I guess what I am looking for is somewhere to get a copy or buy a copy of the manuel something like that..

Also I was wondering what sets these places apart, I have been scanning the forums at rackshack and getting as much info as I could and I just cant figure out how I can get a raq4 there for 299 setup and 99 a month for a raq /w 256k and 20 gig and then that other company is getting 250+ for the same thing? I have heard support horror stories about all companys, but is there reallt that big of a different. I definatly dont have 300 a mo to spend seeing it would take forever to make my $$$ back but I also dont want to be pulling my hair out waiting for RS to get back to me about my "trouble ticket" and have everyone leave my service because I cannot provide.

Vivo,

Did you perhaps mean www.raqshaq.com? The one you gave is a surfboard rental company in Hawaii.

I too am looking at buying/leasing a raq, and setting up my own virtual hosting company.

raqshaq.com's prices are $99/mo for a RaQ2, $139 for a RaQ3, and $189 for a RaQ4. If you can tell me where to get a RaQ4 for only $99, let me know!!

RaQ manuals can be found at http://www.raqshaq.com/docs.html or at http://www.cobalt.com/support/resources/manuals.html

There is a cobalt raq forum here. Not as nice and friendly as we are but informative none the less.

I find this one hard to believe.
RaQ3 10.2Gb 32Mb - only $49.95 per month

From what I've read though, 32 MB of RAM is a bit sparse.
