Adobe-Macromedia Learning Curve - 7/15/2008 7:04:40
Hi Everybody,

I purchased the CS3 Production Premium from Adobe 3 months ago, because I want to offer and do more audio/video stuff on my websites.

I simply did not realize the huge time commitment to learn this stuff:)

Every time I look at the Adobe site they have new tools, applications and software. Some of it I really have to slow walk through simply to figure out how to use it.

Has anyone else ventured into some of the new stuff like AIR, Flex, others? How have you used it?

I use Audition regularly for real audio editing. But I barely have scratched the surface of even that.

Barry

That CS3 Production Premium is a nice package.

To really start using Air and Flex you need to have a good knowledge base in AS3. I have built one Air App. Adobe has always had the creative professional crowd as customers. Adding AIR and Flex to the products they offer takes them into the realm of real Application Development.

As far as training goes lynda.com has some very good Adobe training.

:) If it has the name Adobe on the front of it then expect to spend a lot of time getting to grips with it.

I have the full Adobe suite... I use Photoshop.

For Flash work I use Swish. For vector graphics I use Paint Shop Pro. For music I use a mixture of Audigy, Digital Sound Recorder and Nero.

I just don't have the time to learn the Adobe products. I need 'dive in and it works' stuff.
