How to do Frame border and flashy picture effects. - 7/15/2008 15:21:10
To be up front: I know no code, sorry, real low-tech here.

The website I'm working on can be found at www.losmesquites.com/JBDC

1) I'm using a top nested frame format, real simple basic HTML in design view, I don't know code....I want to be able to put a small border around the entire main frame
like in the following website: http://www.bgci.org/

2) They have also asked me if I could put an effect on the photos of our main page like in the main photo on the following website: (I think its flash but "m not sure.)
http://www.vallartabotanicalgardensac.org/

Any hints on how to do this would be appreciated.

Umm, ok, This isn't going to be easy for you, but I'll try to explain the basics.

With your sites current layout, you can't quite put a border round the whole page, not without complicting things too far anyway. You've used frames, which means loading two different HTML source files at ones, getting a border to surround these as someone with next to no coding knowledge is tricky.

You can try centralising the top frame content, and pulling a border down from that on the second frame, but it's getting it accurate enough and stable enough to show properly in all browsers that will prove a problem for you.

And onto the piccies.

YUp, the example you have given is Flash, however, its not impossible to do, and you will need some fairly large pics for it. Getting the music on the background on it i's recommend you leave out as well, that only tends to annoy people who cant find the stop/pause button.

That particular flash item just tilts & pans around fairly large photos, occasionally fading a new one in to keep you looking. I'm no flash expert, so you'd have to ask the other chaps around here for that.
