CMS after the fact? - 8/8/2008 12:07:30
Hi all,

I've got a situation I was hoping I could get some guidance for. I have built an .asp site on Windows platform that has many include files and rollovers, etc. Part of the deal was offering training, and to date, the best program I know of for this situation is Contribute. Contribute is pretty solid and user friendly, but - it won't handle the rollovers or drop-down menus, etc.
Now, the entire site navigation uses drop-down menus, so I anticipate my clients being, well let's just say not completely happy when they find out Contribute won't allow them to make new menu items without some assistance from me (How are we going to add pages? they will ask). And if they want to change an image that currently has a rollover - not going to happen at least not in Contribute.
Is there another windows based cms that will handle things like rollovers and drop-down menus? I know that there is alot of stuff out there - I really wish I was comfortable with joomla or mambo. Even if I found someone that could convert the existing site on Windows to something Joomla or mambo would be 'happier' with, like unix or linix, the site is already live, and it would cause an interruption to change hosting platforms.
Has anybody worked with windows based cms's that could do what I've described.

Can anybody suggest a possible course of action? I'll be happy to PM you the link to the current website.

We just took a very large firm out of frames and into a simple (but custom) CMS system. We built it on a test server and on approval simply pointed the dns to the new server. It took 6 months and 8 people and lots of money. Given your situation, I really can't thank of a good way to do this other than a re-build.
