.NET 2 not .NET 3.5 - 8/21/2008 4:37:06
Hi
I have used FP to create webs for some years however I have now bought EW 2 and installed it and .NET 3.5 on my computer HOWEVER I have just discovered that my web host only has support for .NET 2 for .NET 3.5 I have to increase the package - the cost would be more than 10 times what we now pay.
I do try to learn new techniques as I go along but I am getting older (not sure that the grandchildren couldn't do a better job)
I am not sure quite what .NET is let alone whether it will make a difference
Should I just use the http css features of EW (is that possible) or should I just carry on with FP 03,
Thank you for your patience in reading this

The .NET framework is the managed code programming model for Windows and is a software development environment. .NET code can be reused across multiple application architectures and the application interface is consistent across different platforms (.NET for desktop, server, SQL server, mobile networks, Silverlight, etc.)
This is the code that makes web page interact with the user and the server.
Don't fret and don't waste the money on a hosting upgrade, you will be fine using EW. Most of your learning curve will be using CSS instead of Tables for managing layout and presentation (font sizes, colors, etc.) that FP used to produce in-line (on nearly EVERY line!)
This forum is a great resource and will help answer your questions if you get "stuck".
