MOV files to be accessed externallly in flash - 8/30/2008 2:01:03
Hi All, I am developing a cd which contains some .mov files. I want to access these externally in a flash UI which will autoplay. Can anyone please help me in this regards. Thanks in advance.

First you will have to convert your mov file to a flash or SWF format. Then Google 'autoplay flash' for your player.

You may run into issues with flash on the CD. I know if you're going to grab external content in your swf, you need to manually set some security settings on every computer that is going to play it. If you run into that problem, let me know. I setup a workaround that works on PCs (not Macs), that involves an auto start of a web server to display flash without security warnings. I've been meaning to write up a tutorial on this so others know what to do too.

Sure would like to see that tutorial. Does it involve JavaScript?
