how much spam do you get to your gmail accounts?

Around 10-20 a day. I don't use my Gmail address on any of my sites, so they must be getting mine either from either a dictionary type approach, just trying out various combinations in the hope of striking lucky, or some unscrupulous website/forum/mailing list owner's passing on their mailing list details. I did read about a trick with putting a '+' after your account name, which Google ignores and still delivers to you (though of course some systems won't let you use a + in an email address), but you can use it to see where particular emails are coming from - useful if you suspect a certain site's selling it's mailing list. I've never got round to trying it out though.

Anyhow, full details of it, and many other cool Gmail tricks, here: http://g04.com/misc/GmailTipsComplete.html#Tip-05

Not a user of Gmail here but don't they have spam filters? OR are they as effective as the spam filters on AOL? Wife gets 10 to 20 spam a day on AOL with no hope of stopping the flood.
