Whats the best way? - 12/12/2001 20:07:50
I need to download the lastest version of a web-site. Of course I'm using FP 2000. When I open the site live with FP, how do I copy the files down to the hard drive? I never had to deal with this situation before. Your help is appreciated.

Just publish to your hard drive. When you click publish web it will let you browse to wherever you want to publish it to.

I am using FP2002, but I think this works the same in FP2000. With the site opened live publish to a destination you select on your HD. It will need to create a web in the destination folder if you haven't already set it up. I did this just to make a back-up. Worked fine.

No need to feel stupid. It was a good question.

That's actually MY job around here and you can't have it. So you'll just have to remain your ol' sensible self.

And remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question; just stupid answers, uh, nope that's not right...maybe it's if you don't ask the question, THEN you're stupid? No..that doesn't sound right either. Ah well..you get the idea. Ask away!
