Google does not See My Keywords – Need Help - 9/11/2008 17:49:42
Google knows my website exists, but it will never show up in any search results. The only way it will show up in search results is if I enter a “search phrase” + my domain name, then maybe my web pages will show in search results. Then if I click on the Google cache for that webpage, none of the words from the “search phrase” are highlight. Although they are clearly there. Google does not seem to see any of my words.

My domain is swfl4u.com. If you did a Google search for, naples florida real estate, my site is nowhere to be found. If you search, naples florida real estate swfl4u, then it appears in the results. But if you click on googles' cache page, none of the search terms are highlighted. This is true for all my web pages, if I use a search phrase specific to anyone of my web pages. Nowhere to be seen, unless I include my domain name, and then no words from the search will highlight in the cache. They seem to be invisible.

There has to be something in my code confusing Google. I return in the 6 position on yahoo with the same phrase, naples florida real estate. And yahoo cache has all those words highlighted.

Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

I use godaddy as my server. Does anyone else use godaddy and have the problem I describe above?

You have a Google page rank of 2 and have a site in a very competitive market. You need to work on your incoming links to your site. You might also try a better folder and page naming conventions. Since your dot com name give you no help you should look at changing this : http://www.swfl4u.com/Communities/Communities.htm to something like http://www.swfl4u.com/Florida-RealEstate/Florida-Homes-for-sale.htm etc. Go to Wordtracker.com to find out what folks are REALLY typing into the search engines and use those keywords! You site suffers from nothing more than a lack of hits and incoming links--don't blame GoDaddy for this one.

Thanks for the attempt. I know I need better seo. But my content is loaded with the popular search words and phrases as confirmed by many different keyword tools out there. As I mentioned, I am on page 1, position 6 for the search phrase on yahoo.

For google whether a page is in position 1 (great seo) or 10,000 (poor seo), the cache will highlight the search terms it recognizes. Out of 40 pages of content, I can not be searched on google. But I am indexed.

It is my belief that for any search, google will highlight all the word it matches from the search phrase on the cache page. If words are not highlighted then google does not see them. So they will never show up on any search.

So I believe I have a code or technical issue that is causing the problem. Search google: naples florida real estate swfl4u and then click on the cache page, and none of the search words are highlighted. If google is not seeing those words, the page will never show up in any search.

I have been googling this issue, and others have had the same issue. I have not found where anyone has discovered the answer as yet. Maybe someone here knows.

Try putting your DOCTYPE on line 1 where it belongs.

I have excluded several possibilities. And am now down to only a couple of possibilities. I am pretty sure, that if I did not use DWTs I would not have this problem. I have similar content with a different domain that did not use a master dwt. And had no problems with Google searches on that site. For a test I placed some content on that domain using a master.dwt. Guess what? Google crawled it, and its cache will not highlight search phrases. Google does not see those words now.

This site uses DWTs and has the exact problem.

http://www.frontpagewebmaster.com/m-388861/tm.htm#392197

Or it could relate to using a master.dwt in combination with some other factor such as:
1. Dwts cause the problem in combination with certain char sets.
2. Dwts cause the problem in combination with whatever?.

If anyone is using a master.dwt could you check to see if you have the same problem? If you do not, then it is seems the problem would be my using DWTs in combination with another factor.

I hunted out other expression created websites that use DWTs. I could not find one that did not have the Google SEO issue.

Other examples: Just Google these phrases and check what the google cache shows.

Web Design certainwebdesign (certainwebdesign.com)
saints maccsaintsfc (maccsaintsfc.co.uk)
sun valley share vacationfractionalstd.com (vacationfractionalstd.com)
design daubertdesign (daubertdesign.com)
dog show rrcus (rrcus.com)
weight deadfat (deadfat.com)
pick & place denestech (demestech.com)
Casa Loma clvfa (clvfa.com)

All those poor websites out there using DWTs and nobody knew this is a Google seo issue?

If you believe that there is an issue with DWTs and Google searches, then do not use: charset=utf-8.

Other Charset do not seem to cause the same problem with Google that was described above.
