Google Results - cached pages question - 9/18/2008 12:17:08
I put up a new website for these chaps twaps.co.uk and went live about two weeks ago. But when I search for the site on Google the results page still shows cached pages from their old website. Is there anything I can do to get Google to drop these old cached pages? Googlebot is showing in the site stats so it has definitely been round to index the new site.

I don't know Rick, I searched for a few different things and mostly found your new site although one page did come up as a page-not-found. Could you redirect the pages that now don't exist to your new index page?

btw - your sites are looking fabulous these days! congrats!

Hi Nicole

Thanks for your feedback on the subject. I didn't create the previous site so I don't have any quick way to redirect those pages. I assume that Google will at some point re-index and catch-up but I never know why it hangs on to certain cached pages and other things seem to update quite quickly - oh well, no doubt it will happen eventually.

Thanks also for the kind and encouraging feedback on the design - much appreciated :)

Thanks Walrus!

And just to say for those that find this link in future - the above search engine situation has inded resolved itself a few weeks after going live with the new site - results on Google now refer to the new site and the 'cached pages' have been dropped :)
