2 questions in 1 day; this one about navigation - 9/28/2008 22:52:57
The same site as my .js question: I'm looking for advice for an easy squeezy slide out/drop down menu system.

empowerment-group.com.mytempweb.com

I have only a few pages that have anything in the submenu area...my client would like a slide out (where the child appears when the parent is hovered over). I have everthing setup with the FP navigation system; what would be the best way to accomplish this in your guys' opinion?

And...I need to place the trademark symbol in the navigation...can't do that with fp navigation system can I?

Thanks in advance,
Sharon

I don't use FP navigation, or FP's other tools, so I may be steering you in the wrong direction. So maybe you wouldn't use any of these? Dynamic drive has some different JS menus - http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/index.html

Some different examples from the page:

You want to be careful with JS menus - not very accessible. Many won't work without JS on or with security settings up high.

Whichever you choose - bear that in mind.

Thank you both...I am just getting into style sheets and expressions...so I do go back to fp 03 for moments when I can't figure out what to do.

I don't mind redoing the menu out of the fp navigation; just not certain the best way to go about it as I do need the flyout for submenu items...I already have css in place at the site...if I were to use the css method...would I simply add the code to my style sheet or create another; as there are menu instructions for appearance in the present sheets? And all I want to do is replace the present navigations with the new ones in the same location...I'm not certain how to get them into the right spot...can I just insert the DIV code mentioned?

And one more question about the motivate quote that is in the lower left column...I've tried everything to change that font to a smaller and italic font...in the style sheet, in front page directly, in html...I've been able to right align it but that's all...I must be forgetting something yet again...any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Ah, learning curves...I've written this before my first cup of coffee..I do hope I've made sense!

Thanks,
Sharon

Instead of just
.style1 {font-size:small;}

Change to

p.style1 {font-size: small;}

That'll do it.

Yep I use that one - but I don't know how it would work with FrontPage menu thingies.

I'll try that...in fact, I do know I have to replace the fp menu entirely...not a problem...just want to make it as simple as I can; and if I need to I'll hire it out this time as the customer needs this change asap!

I'll look into al the options...if any of you are available for hire quickly...is it okay to ask you to let me know??
