Server error opening registry port 80 - 10/23/2008 8:34:18
I am not able to access my remote website(s). I think this started happening some time around when my old roadrunner modem was replaced with a new one. Here is the message I get:
Server Error: error 2 opening registry key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\shared tools\Web Server Extensions\Ports\Port 80
I looked into the registry and got to this point
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\shared tools\Web Server Extensions\Ports\ and it stops there - no port 80.

The other website I tried to access when I put my password in it didn't recognize it.

I hope you can help - I really need to update my webs.
thanks.

Do you have a firewall running that might be blocking port 80?

How can I find out if the firewall is blocking port 80?

What kind of firewall are you running? Are you on Vista? It has it's own firewall and if you installed a new modem and if software came with it, then maybe that caused the problem.

Also look here: http://www.cable-modem.net/dcforum/DCForumID4/61.html

It talks about roadrunner modems blocking port 80
