Previewing Intranet Site with URL - 11/25/2008 6:34:02
I have an Intranet site that uses SSIs. Unfortunately, when I select Preview in Browser, the address in IE6 is the file path not the URL, so the SSIs do not appear.

Is there a Site Setting in FP that will force the preview to use our IP address? If not, is there something the IT folks can do with IIS?

Cheers

It seems you are probably working locally so when you open the page, you are opening the page locally?

Have you tried to open the site on the server to see if that will work when you preview. Unfortunately this is one of the downsides of using SSIs but trust your code - SSIs are much better to help you maintain consistency throughout the website

Hi Corey,

When we were using EW, I was able to have the page preview with the IP address (i.e. http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/content/area/type/document instead of \\server\content\area\type\document.

I'd like to have the same thing happen in FP 2003. Is this possible?

How are you saving the files \\server\content\area\type\document or through the http:? You might be able to make it work if you have FP to set to open that website, but keep in mind that EW is supposed to offer more to you than FP.
