A Great Part-Time Business - 12/16/2008 11:42:56
I think the number 1 consideration for choosing a part-time business to start is the expected earnings per hour worked.

A large part of my living comes from cleaning up the messes of individuals who claimed to be web developers and then quit on projects when it became clear they were in over their heads.
Ain't that the truth.

And my other pet hate, and I know you lot disagree with me.... charging by the hour! I quote #500 for the site, reckon it will take me 10 hours = #50 per hour. Numptie comes along charging #25 per hour, then uses the time to learn php, asp or javascript. Takes 40 hours to do a relatively simple job, costs #1000.

It's not the clients fault that you don't know what you're doing.

Location does not matter in web development.

It helps when the site hasn't been hacked, lol.
