Help setting up my membership site - 1/17/2009 19:09:52
Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I hope I can get the help I need off this site. I have a new membership site. I taught myself to design using FP and how to FTP. I've been a model on another site for over 3 years so that has helped me learn a few things with FTP..etc.

Here is my problem...

I designed my site, picked a hosting site, FTP'ed it all and now it's up. I had CCbill go in and set up for the member pages I want password protected.

The problem is, they are still not protected because I have no clue how to set that up properly. I thought they go in and bam it's all member ready. I have no clue what I have to do to make the username/pw page come up when someone hits the member buttons.

So what files do I put where? I need someone to walk me thru it thru chat hopefully. I don't understand the lingo since I am self taught, but do know about the C panel and can find things there and my FTP.

I need help as to where to point the links/buttons to go to the right pages so signing in. Right now I have a few member pages exposed but not all of them. Sure not going to show it all free if I can avoid it. LOL

You can look at my site and see the errors that come up for a few member pages and possibly point me in the right direction to make my site work correctly.

CCBill didn't help me beyond installing the files/script and it hasn't protected the pages I need protecting. I know it is a matter of being a folder misplaced or something. It's just over my head.

If you help me to get it right, I will give free membership if you want it for a month. :)

I appreciate all help on this and asap please.

I recognized that when I saw CCBill.

Calienteguera - CCBill usually have a few employees on some of the adult web forums. You might be better off asking in one of those forums since CCBill is used extensively for (adult-based) membership websites. If you need some of the more popular ones, send me a PM and I'll be happy to give you a few of them.

If they gave you the code and provided you with instructions, you might also check with your hosting company for the proper permissions are enabled on your account.

I'm sorry I didn't mention it was adult material. Thank you I will go search for one now. I figured it was just a matter of putting the right files in the right place and it was for all sites, not just adult sites.

I know some sites are pw protected that are not adult material so was hoping it was the same. This is so frustrating not understanding what has to be done & being able to do it myself. :(

Can you guys help me with the media encoder issue?

Windows media encoder gives me the following error when I try to log in for live streaming video...

the specified push template is invalid(OXC00DISIA)

I was using the settings the hosting site (cam is on) gave me. Do you know what the makes that error come up?

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to ask this.

Susie

Ask the guys and gals on one of the adult forums about the Codec / Sorenson issues. They will be able to help you out and provide you some excellent advice.

You might also contact Chili Host - they are a good hosting company that specializes in the adult industry. It's not their job to help you with the code, but I think they offer advice and help quite a bit.

It's not that much of a problem, just some of our members are a little "sensitive" and others browse the forums from their workplace.

This Error is usually down to codec permissions server side, either you or your host would need to set them, unfortunatley, I don't know what permissions this would need as I don't do that much live streaming, have always outsourced it unless the client has insisted that the file stay on the web server it is to be viewed from.
