Paragraph format - 1/28/2009 22:54:09
I have what I think is a very simple question. I want to make text wrap around a picture. I type a paragraph and either insert a picture or drag it into the paragraph and it will only allow one line of type beside the picture. For example, if the picture is 3 inches tall and the lines of text 1 inch tall, then I would want to have 3 lines of text beside the picture. I'm using FP 2000 How do I do this?

Thanks for the fast response. I suppose I should have added, how do I do it using the tools in FP2000? I don't understand html thats why I use a program like Front Page.

Thanks guys, I found it. After looking thru the help section, one more time, I found the right words to ask and it gave me this, In Page view, select the positioned element or position box. Note Positioning settings are applied to the element that is selected (the element that is displayed with handles). Therefore, if a regular page element is selected, the positioning settings you specify will be applied to it, in effect positioning that element. On the Format menu, click Position. Under Positioning style, specify how you want the page element to be positioned. Under Wrapping style, specify how you want text and other page elements to wrap around the element. 10 years using FP and I finally learned word wrapping. This may be an indicator why learning html just aint for me. Once again, Thank you both. Andy

Thanks Larry, I did try what you said but I just didn't have anything about wrapping as an option. After I right click the image a window opens with three tabs, General, Video and Appearance. If I click on the appearance tab I do have options for horizontal and vertical spacing but nothing about wrapping styles. Playing with those values didn't affect the text. Perhaps your method came in a latter version. Thanks again, Andy

Sounds like there is a difference in the early versus later versions. Check again and if the Wrapping Style option isn't available under Picture Properties, then certainly use the Format/Position commands.
