Revamping site...ready to take the next step - 2/5/2009 11:43:37
We have had our ecommerce site up and running for years now and I would like to start defining how to take it to the next level. We have a couple thousand products we sell through the site and currently use Americart for our secured processing host. Eventually I'll be tackling this portion, but for now I'm looking at making it more personal for the visitors. Right now when they visit our site they can browse & purchase products, but each time it's like they're purchasing for the first time. I'd like to add the functionality of a customer portal of sorts where they can login & view previous orders, save their cart items (wish list)...the small factors that make customers feel more at home.

I have quite a bit of ASP knowledge and am ready to take this project on, but am not sure the best way to tackle it. Does anyone have any good insite or advice on where to start planning & best strategies?

Thanks in advance.

You might take a look at Comersus or CandyPress for some options.
