Picture thumbnails and new windows - 2/13/2009 16:51:29
I'm about to do a site for a friend where there will be quite a few thumbnail pics on page. I know how to auto thumbnail and set sizes etc, but I am looking for a little advice. Firstly, when one auto thumbnails a picture and then you click it when viewing in a browser, it opens the full sized picture on a new page and you need use your browser back button to return to the original page where the thumbnail was. I would ideally like to be able to click on a thumbnail and for the larger image to open up in a new window the size of the larger picture I thumbnailed (rather like you do when you are on a shopping web site and click to see a larger view of what you are looking at. I am sure this is pretty straightforward, but I have found the Frontpage help in the program to be somewhat poor. Any guidance is greatly appreciated - KP

Lightbox or Litebox, Yes there are two versions out there, will be perfect for you. See an example on one of the web sites I handle for a client HERE I have implemented litebox on that website. You can google both versions to see which one suits you best.

Yes, it is easy. But you must follow the instructions that they give you for where to insert the code. If you run into problems you can contact us here or go to the website where you got the script, for help. Good luck

keep in mind you can always right click a thumbnail, hyperlinked photo or any hyperlink text, and choose"hyperlink properties", choose "target frame", click "new window", ok it all. That will bring up a new window.
