Setting up a blog on a personal webpage - 2/20/2009 0:39:48
I have a simple idea. I want my family to be able to submit storries about our family and past on a webpage and view all stories on the same page below. Basically they need to just provide their name and their story, then when they submit the story, it will appear from newest to oldest on the same page with the date and name of who submitted it.

I thought a form would do what I wanted but I can not figure out how to have the submissions show up below the form on the same page. Any ideas?

Classic ASP solution:
Use rich text editor tinymce.
Create a form.asp page with a call to the database to display the postings below the tinymce editor.
Have the form.asp page post to a database insert page (insert.asp) and redirect back to the form.asp page on successful submit to show the post.
This should take you no more than 15 minutes to set up.
Let me know if you have issues and I'll zip up some code for you to use.
Here is an example without the database:

Or if that's too complex, go take a look on www.hotscripts.com for a Guestbook script that does what you need. They usually come with full instructions.
