we got our OWN domain this week, YEEHAW!!

open to critique, my first try...and a bit shy after seeing some of the other sites posted here. But..that's what Outfront is about..learning and growing.

MP3 loads with the page...meant to be closely coreographed with the banner ad (we call it a flip)...but you need to refresh to get the full effect. Site is loaded with pics, these are action guys.

have fun!!!

I forgot..and need an efficient way to communicate.. the ribbons on the left..
top one goes to Oklahoma City bombing memorial, bottom one to the picture galleries from when the team was working the World Trade Center site.

Hi,

I like the look of the home page - are you going to carry that design right through the site? (I think you should do).

I'm not a big fan of background music - maybe it works ok on this site, probably a personal thing.

I'd get some navigation on the inside pages, it's a hassle going back to the home page each time.

One or two of you pages have blanks in the file name, this could cause problems so best to put an underscore between words.

Best of luck with the site, and the work!

Cheers
Andy

Gracias!

long post...thanks for the insights. I work with the page every day like it is my child. Site is a bit cobbled. Originated from a PowerPoint slide layout. Have not deviated much from that protoype...at least for the home page.

Underlying pages...have done in canned theme, and struggle with the navigation while maintaining their original thought process. Leap of faith when the terrorist attacks happened...because of the nature of the "client" (emergency services)..and the fact that OK-1 (Oklahoma) was heavily involved with New York City Urban Search and Rescue as a result of bombing in Oklahoma, a very close tie. Practically overnight, migrated page to a patriotic theme. At this stage of development, the page is more for communicating to the team as opposed to drawing in an audience..but I am sure it will evolve.

Thanks for comment on music...must learn how to offer the option to turn it off. My tendency is to "choreograph" ...matching the banner ad to the background. In this case, had added some items that..IMHO...made the site a bit too "busy' (????) to the eye.
A perspective perhaps.. added the music to quiet things down a bit..a tool to balance sight with sound Was going to take it out the next day, but got e-mails from members who were moved to tears.

Interesting to visit sites where the whole format has already been laid in place...and you get tons of "under construction" pages..
Am discovering differences in design approach. That is...fit content to design, or design to content?

I am learning..but..there is SO MUCH TO LEARN!!! Especially that part about the file names...what problems might that create?

Thanks..I am a sleep deprived crash dummy that probably puts too much in posts!
