We need an asp or .net application that is under $100 that will help us manage files better. The client I am working with has several people in different states (printers, designers, etc.) that need to have access to documents. I am having a hard time finding one.

We want something

  • hosted on our server
  • can set permissions/users
  • allows for short descriptions
  • shows type of file or file extension
  • thumbnails a plus


Can anyone recommend anything? I am looking at CKFinder, but don't really see anything else. I am trying the demo and it isn't going too well for me, I keep running into error on the .net version.

Not sure exactly what you're looking for. I've used this, with some modifications: http://www.asp101.com/samples/dir_list.asp It doesn't support security, but you could build something into it.
