sorrento -> Migration from Frontpage SE to Sharepoint WSS 3.0, hw to start? (3/30/2009 10:55:47)

Hi,

the company I'm working for has an Intranet based on Frontpage Server Extension successfully running.

Now Sharepoint Services 3.0 (I`m experienced in Sharepoint) shall be introduced and the existing content must be migrated.Has anyone here experience in such a migration and can share some knowledge how to do so?

The most important part for me is the migration of the content-pages including the documents that are linked to from those content-pages. Those documents are in the same folders as the content-pages.

Are there any tools available for doing so?

Any help is really appreciated!

Your best bet is to take a close look at the site and remove anything that uses defunct FP Bots, replacing them with valid HTML. You may find it easier to get a copy of Expression Web and do the site with that instead of FP which is no longer supported by MS.

Check out this thread

If the site is mission critical to your company then get someone who knows what they're doing. You could end up with one heck of a mess.
