RallyFest -> FrontPage without frames when already built with the blighters? (3/30/2009 12:44:05)

Hi all

Hope somebody can assist? I have built my website with FrontPage, which is now live and online but since doing this I have now realised the problems with frames and the search engines. How can I now change my initial home page without frames to include header, navigation buttons, contents and links without having to redo the whole website? Is there such an easy solution??

Cheers in anticipation

Gill

I found this site to be helpful if you have a web with frames and want to convert to no-frames.

We moved an international corporate site with 50,000 pages out of frames. It took 6 labor months but at the same time we (1) built a template skinned with CSS and (2) took all of the content and moved it into a database and (3) created a content manager for the site. Voila! A site that can now be edited using a browser by the staff of the corporation and completely re-designed simply by changing the CSS style sheet! All menu items and headers/footers are include files (as well as page names and meta tags). Que Padre! (How cool!)

50,000 pages! WOW! How much did that cost the company if I might ask?

$270,000 all in. Competing bids ranged from $150,000 to $950,000. 972 hours. $135 per labor hour (a discount from our $165 rate) with project pricing for the design, architecture, wireframe, database, content management, and debug.
