Play videos via HypLink in FP2000 - 4/1/2009 21:31:39
Hello all- I am a newbee and welcome all the patience one can give~

what i would like the page to look like:
- how to create a page with windows media player locked on the right side of the page
- hyperlinks to videos on the left
- when a user clicks on one of the video links, the video will play in the media player
- when the user clicks on another video the media player begins playing the new clicked video

I need help with the following (my terminology may not be correct):
- code needed to lock the media player on the right side
- code to have the media player play any of the video links as they are clicked by a user
- where (within FP2000) do I place the codes

I found a link (below) that is pretty much what I am looking for but I can't figure out how to make it work, so any and all the help I can get will be greatly appreciated! http://www.edgesz28.com/edgesz28/embedmediaplayer.htm

TIA,
newbee

You could position the video players with CSS. Look up CSS position in Google.

But you really need to learn HTML and CSS.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I am hoping someone at this forum will help me with my question. So, if someone can actually help me with my questions I will greatly appreciate it.

TIA

Everyone here will help you but it sounds as if you are asking folks to write the code for you. Perhaps you should look into paying a developer in your area.

http://www.edgesz28.com/edgesz28/embedmediaplayer-iframe.htm

View the code to see how it works. It uses inline frames and a separate page for each video.

Here is a video page, and notice this has the embedded media player in it. It is also set to play automatically. http://www.edgesz28.com/edgesz28/jokes/monkey1.htm

The advantage to using frames and separate pages is that if you want or need to use different video formats, it is easily done.

Best of luck

But nobody can bookmark those frames.
