Change text in html doc with no server scripting. - 4/10/2009 10:17:12
I'm trying to find a way to distribute a html document that folks can change the text in without knowing html. They download the document open it in a browser and form fields appear where they can change some text. I'm not sure how to do this without using some type of server side language.

Any ideas??

Sounds more like a PDF fillable form. Which is mostly javascript. What happens when the changes are completed?

PDF fillable form
is the way to go. You can do it in the latest version of OpenOffice (free) and avoid javascript if you want. The way I do it is to have the PDF Fillable form on the website. That way the user clicks on the form link, it opens in their browser and they fill it out on line then they can print it. Note that it is not save-able for the user but printable. If you have the money you can buy the full version of Acrobat to do it also.
