hyperlinks do not work after publishing - 4/27/2009 14:45:47
Hello Gang, I imported a web site to update. I make some changes and published all the image and pages FTP and they appear on the server side. The links on the pages I updated still point to my hard drive. I tried to edit the path with no success. It is acting if it is not seeing the server side Any ideas why this is doing this? Any help is appreciated. DW.

Hmmm...Importing is not a good idea. If you are using FP with extensions then you should have published from your remote site to your hard drive. Then make the changes, then publish back to the server. Open your page with the bad links on your hard drive. Fix the links and re-publish to the server. Links to an external web site, not yours, look like this: <a href="http://www.someoneelsessite.com"> Links to another page on your website look like this: <a href="home.htm">

I am not using FP xtns. This is just strange but take a look. www.mratomicart.com. The paintings links are the problem. I am not seeing either of your href examples. Some point to www.mratomic.com and some point back to my hard drive. Do you think exporting from the remote and republishing would correct this? You gotta know I appreciate your time, dw.

Yes, you are correct. Some links point to your hard drive. Just change those to point to the image only. Like if they are stored in your ART folder then you use ART/P1010038.jpg Try one then ftp that page to the server and check it. Note: the next poster has the same problem so look at that also.
