Johny2000 -> Back again same old problem (4/29/2009 13:19:34)

Hi everyone
I have include files on my site .When I place the code in the navber file

<ul type="none">
<li><a href="index.php">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="Tutorials.php">Video Tutorials</a></li>

The navbar looks is ok ,it is center .

When I place is code
<li><a href=""http://askyourcook.com/index.php">Home</a></li>
<li><a href=""http://askyourcook.com/Tutorials.php">Video Tutorials</a></li

When I add the http://askyourcook.com the navbar drop down. I need to put the askyourcook.com for the includes can find each other .I think I said that right

Does any know how to stop this ??
Thank you

Sorry - not totally clear what the problem is.

Is it the relative or absolute paths? I tend to stick to using /index.php or /tutorials.php. Using the "/" means that you don't need to use the full path (e.g. http://www. etc etc) but it means that the link goes up to the top of the folder structure and looks down from there. It means that it's less likely to get lost in the various files and more likely to find what you need it to find.

Probably just a typo but you've got two lots of "s at the start of the path too.

Taking a look at all of these past posts this looks a lot like link spam to me...maybe I'm just getting old and cynical.

Link spamming is when someone uses a forum to repeatedly posts links back to their website for the purpose of gaining an incoming link for search engine ranking.

You have posted 5 links to your site in one post--three of them are unnecessary (two may be a valid code example).

You have posted the same problem 15 times since March 3...always with lots of links back to your site.

Sometimes your posts - like the one on April 2 appear to be blatant spam...

Hey...you asked!!

BTW--web application development is my profession--I've been doing it for 16 years after spending 20 years successfully turning around failing restaurants, golf clubs and resorts.

I volunteer my time here to help folks like you. You don't have to be thankful or appreciative it but you needn't be rude either!
